The Birth of Tick Tock Mother Putter

Tick Tock Mother Putter is both my mantra and my calling. Its spark came during a round when a playing partner was struggling on the greens. I told her to simply say “tick… tock…” while putting. She sank the next putt with ease. Having recently seen The Hitman’s Bodyguard, I couldn’t resist blurting out, “Tick Tock, Motherf***er!” And just like that, a mantra—and eventually, a mission—was born.

From that moment, the idea grew into something bigger. The rhythm of “tick tock” wasn’t just catchy—it’s grounded in the science and physics of a pendulum. A pendulum’s motion is consistent, repeatable, and reliable… just like a good putting stroke. That rhythm tied perfectly to my belief in keeping golf simple and playful. It echoed nursery rhymes and the joy of learning like a child—because when we play, we improve without even realizing it.

It also connected to my core philosophy:

  • Your putter should fit your stroke—not the other way around.
  • The putter is the most important club to get fit properly.
  • Golf practice should be fun, gamified, and rooted in efficiency.
  • Putting tempo transfers to chipping, pitching, and even full swings, making it the highest return-on-investment area in golf.

Having my own putter fitting was eye-opening—I realized most golfers are using a putter that doesn’t fit them, forcing them to adapt their stroke instead of the other way around. That’s why at Tick Tock Mother Putter, we use tools like SAM PuttLab to ensure the club is built for you, so you can start your improvement at the hole and work your way out.

Like Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott’s Vision54 philosophy, I see myself as a harbor. My job is to give you the tools, guidance, and confidence to “sail” on your own—knowing you can always come back for “Mom’s advice” when the waters get rough.

At the heart of Tick Tock Mother Putter is a simple truth: Golf is easy, if we let it be.
